Day 1 Tue., Apr. 16 | Departure

Board your overnight flight to Amsterdam. 

Day 2 Wed., Apr. 17 | Arrive in Amsterdam

Welcome to Amsterdam, where you will board your luxurious river cruise ship.  

Day 3 Thu., Apr. 18 | Hoorn

Enjoy a scenic cruise through the Ijsselmeer to Hoorn, where you have a choice of four excursions.  

  1. Tulip & Bulb Fields 
    Visit a family-run tulip farm with over one million tulips in distinct growth phases and many species and colors. 
  2. Hoorn Walking Tour 
    For those seeking to travel back in time, you can go on a walking tour in Hoorn. 
  3. Zuiderzee Museum 
    Visit the Zuiderzee Museum, providing insight into the maritime culture and history of the lively Zuiderzee region. 
  4. Dutch Countryside Bike Tour

Day 4 Fri., Apr. 19 | Middelburg

After enjoying a scenic cruise through the Delta, explore medieval Middelburg, the second largest trading city of the Dutch East India Company.

    Enjoy the charms and traditions of a proud and historic city. Canal-side homes and weaving alleys lead visitors to Gothic structures and exciting views.
  2. Delta Works Tour 
    Discover the intriguing history of Delta Works, a unique storm surge barrier, while visiting the Flood Museum. More than half of the Netherlands lies below sea level, and the Delta Works were built to prevent a recurrence of the 1953 flood disaster.
  3. Middleburg Guided Bike Ride 
    Exploring the city on two wheels during a guided bike ride is the perfect choice for a carefree adventure. 

Day 5 Sat., Apr. 20 | Ghent

Ghent testifies to the brilliance of Flemish designers and architects. Enjoy several choices of excursions throughout its distinguished heritage.  

  1. Highlights of Ghent & Bruges 
    Discover two medieval cities, Ghent and Bruges, on a highlights tour. Admire Ghent’s canal-side architecture and some of its famous sights, including the Castle of the Counts and Ghent Cathedral. Then visit Bruges, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe.   
  2. Ghent Walking Tour & Free time 
    For those who wish to enjoy more free time, join a walking tour of Ghent, followed by leisure time.  
  3. Belgian Chocolate Workshop 
    Learn about the art of Belgian chocolate making from a master chocolatier as he shares his insights. 
  4. Full-day Bruges and Church of our Lady 
    Enjoy a full-day excursion to Bruges, which includes visiting the Church of Our Lady, home to Michelangelo’s beautiful Carrara marble Madonna and Child sculpture. 

Day 6 Sun., Apr. 21 | Antwerp

Explore hidden Antwerp, a gem of a port-town with a Renaissance flair, a flourishing metropolitan center, and one of the greatest harbors in the world.  

  1. Walking Tour & Cathedral Visit 
    Explore this trendy city on a walking tour where you will see Antwerp’s Steen Castle, Grote Market, and Brabo Fountain, along with the UNESCO-designated Cathedral of Our Lady.  
  2. Rubens House 
    Visit the Rubens House, the former home of the famous 17th-century Flemish Baroque painter. 
  3. Antwerp Bike Tour 
    For an active exploration of the area, join a guided bike tour.  
  4. Belgian Chocolate, Beer, and Waffle Tasting

Day 7 Mon., Apr. 22 | Rotterdam, Kinderdijk, Schoonhoven

Explore innovative Rotterdam, iconic Kinderdijk, and Schoonhoven, the heart of The Netherlands since the Middle Ages. 

In Rotterdam: 

  1. Rotterdam Walking Tour & Tastes of Rotterdam 
    Enjoy a morning walking tour of Rotterdam, nicknamed the “Gateway to Europe,” and taste local specialties.   
  2. Delfshaven Excursion 
    Visit Delfshaven, where, on August 1, 1620, the Pilgrim fathers departed on their epic journey aboard the Speedwell. Stopping in Southampton, many then boarded the Mayflower and concluded their voyage at Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts. 
  3. Rotterdam Architectural Bike Tour 
    If you prefer a more active adventure, go on a bike ride through Rotterdam and past some of its famous landmarks and architecture. 
  4. Best of Delft Excursion 
    Go on an excursion to Delft, known as the home of the painter Johannes Vermeer, Delft Blue earthenware, and the Royal House. While here, you will visit the Royal Delft Porcelain Factory and Museum. 

In Kinderdijk: 

  1. Kinderdijk UNESCO Windmills 
    Venture to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kinderdijk, a lovely village renowned for having the country’s greatest concentration of windmills, all dating from the 18th century.  
  2. Kinderdijk Bike Tour 
    Pedal past the famous windmills from the seat of a bike.  

Day 8 Tues., Apr. 23 | Amsterdam

Tour the capital of The Netherlands, a 17th-century treasure trove of fairy-tale sights. One of the most impressive public gardens globally, Keukenhof, presents a spectacular display of millions of flowering tulips spread out over 70 acres. Spend time ambling through this legendary garden, open only nine weeks a year and sometimes referred to as the “Garden of Europe.” Later in the day, admire Amsterdam’s historic harbor and canals, where beautiful homes line the waterside and the fabled Skinny Bridge.  

Day 9 Weds., April 24 - DISEMBARKATION – DEPART AMSTERDAM
