Day 1 Sept. 17 | Depart the USA
Day 2 Sept. 18 | Welcome to Edinburgh
Pre-tour guests will make their way to Edinburgh and join the rest of the Edinburgh tour group.
Catch your first glimpses of historic Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, St. Giles Cathedral, and more on a panoramic tour after arriving in Edinburgh. Then, enjoy the delicious fare at a local venue such as Murrayfield Stadium. Settle into your hotel and rest easy for the memorable adventure ahead. (D)

Day 3 Sept. 19 | Edinburgh Sightseeing
Walk through Scottish history at Edinburgh Castle and the Holyrood Palace on your guided walking tour around Edinburgh. Dating back to the 12th century, the Scots built St. Margaret’s Chapel on top of a volcanic peak and then constructed Edinburgh Castle around it. The castle now safely houses the “Scottish Crown Jewels,” also known as the Honours of Scotland. Continue to the official residence of the British Monarch in Scotland at Holyrood Palace. Its earliest ruins, a 12th-century Augustinian Abbey, housed the famous (or infamous) Mary Queen of Scots. Before dinner at your hotel, worship with fellow travelers at St. Giles Cathedral or Greyfriars Kirck during a special service. (B)

Day 4 Sept. 20 | Dunfermline Abbey & St. Andrews
Cross the Firth of Forth to Fife (We dare you to say that five times fast!) with a stop at Dunfermline Abbey, where St. Margaret and Robert the Bruce are buried. After traveling past picturesque fishing villages, arrive at the ancient ecclesiastical capital of Scotland, St. Andrew’s. Explore the ruins of St. Andrew’s Cathedral and the nearby castle, where guards lowered prisoners nearly 24 feet into the castle’s infamous Bottle Dungeon. Wander through the “Old Course” at St. Andrew’s, renowned as the home of golf. Return to Edinburgh for dinner and overnight. (B)

Day 5 Sept. 21 | Free Day
Take your final full day to explore the history and beauty of Edinburgh on your own. Then, celebrate with all your fellow travelers at a farewell dinner with Scottish entertainment at the Spirit of Scotland Show. (B, D)

Transfer to Edinburgh Airport for your return flight home or continue your journey with an extension. (B)
