You will be welcomed at the Tel Aviv airport by our representative and transferred to your hotel to enjoy dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 3 April 12 – Bethlehem, Baptism

Travel through the Jordan River Valley to visit the Baptismal Site at Qasr el Yehud, the traditional site of the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist (Mark 1). Pass through the Judean wilderness to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus (Luke 2). Enter the Church of the Nativity, the oldest continuously functioning church in the world. See the cave where tradition holds Jesus was born. See the Herodian, one of the palace fortresses of Herod the Great, and his burial site. Visit the Shepherds’ Field. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 4 April 13 – Caesarea, Nazareth, & Tiberias

Visit the Roman aqueduct and theatre at Caesarea, a center of early Christianity and where Paul was imprisoned for two years (Acts 10). View Mount Carmel, the site of Elijah’s victory over the prophets of Baal (I Kings 18). Travel the ancient caravan route through the Jezreel Valley to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archeological dig with layers of twenty different cities built on top of each other. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 5 April 14 – Galilee

With your Bible in hand, cross the waters of the Sea of Galilee. Along the way, you will enjoy a special worship service on board. Visit Kibbutz Nof Ginosar and learn about the “ancient boat”, a rare and excellent example of the kind of boat in which Jesus would have sailed. View a portion of the Valley of the Wind and Doves, the path from Nazareth to the sea that Jesus and the disciples would have walked. Continue to Capernaum. Stand in the ruins of the synagogue built atop the remains of the one in which Jesus taught. Stop at Tabgha, where the feeding of the 5,000 is remembered at the Church of the Loaves and Fish (Luke 9). Also, stop at the Chapel of the Primacy, where Peter confessed his devotion to Christ 3 times (John 21). A beautiful chapel has been built here to commemorate these precious words of truth. Look upon the fields where Jesus taught at the Mount of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5-7). Walk the archaeological site of Magdala. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 6 April 15 – Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights & Bethsaida

At the ruins of Tel Dan, see the altar built by King Jeroboam I (I Kings 12:25-30) and learn about where the “House of David” fragment from the First Temple Period was discovered. Continue on to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter told the Lord, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God!” (Matt.16: 16). A scenic drive along the Golan Heights will give you some beautiful views of Syria and Jordan as well as Israel. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 7 April 16 – Masada & the Dead Sea

Enjoy a visit to Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod and famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore the fortress. Peer down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Drive by Qumran and see the area where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. Stop for a dip in the Dead Sea. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8 April 17 – Nablus & Shiloh

Begin your day with a visit to Cana, the site of Christ’s first miracle (John 2) before stopping in Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home (Matthew 2:23). Continue past Tel Dothan, thought to be the place where Joseph found his brothers with their flocks (Genesis 37). Visit Samaria, the capital of the Northern Kingdom and home to Ahab and Jezebel. See Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim, where the Israelites recited the blessings and curses of the Law. In modern-day Nablus (ancient Shechem), see where the Samaritan woman encountered Christ (John 4) at Jacob’s Well. Overnight in Jerusalem.
