Daily Itinerary

Day 1 DAY 1 - ARRIVE

Arrive in Anchorage, where an airport transfer brings you to the hotel to meet your Adventure Specialist. Then you’re free to delve into the city’s unique culture: check out the eclectic dining scene, try a local craft beer, or stroll the waterfront in the evening sun.

Day 2 DAY 2 - ANCHORAGE | DENALI

Board the glass-domed cars of the Wilderness Express® for the scenic rail journey to Denali. From 4:30 p.m., Denali is yours to explore. Stroll the trails that begin at the park’s museum-like visitor center, or book an optional adventure, like rafting down the Nenana River.

Day 3 DAY 3 - DENALI | TALKEETNA

Travel into the park’s unspoiled wilderness on the lookout for wildlife on the Denali Natural History Tour. Then relax on your deluxe motor coach during the drive to Talkeetna. From 5:30 p.m., the historic small town is yours to enjoy. Relax at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, whose location offers breathtaking views of Denali and the Alaska Range. You can also hike nearby trails or book an optional flightseeing tour to see mountains and glaciers from on high.

Day 4 DAY 4 - TALKEETNA | ALYESKA

There’s time to enjoy more of Talkeetna’s stunning scenery before the coach departs for Anchorage. Get a taste of the big city during a midday stop in downtown before continuing on to Alyeska. Admire the waters of the Turnagain Arm as you enter the Chugach Valley on your way to Hotel Alyeska. Take a spectacular ride on the Alyeska tramway for breathtaking views, while soaring 2,300 feet above the ground. From 3:30 PM, your time is your own. Indulge in the resort’s amenities, or book an optional guided hike on a nearby glacier.

Day 5 DAY 5 - ALYESKA | SEWARD

Discover the wonders of Alaskan wildlife at two acclaimed institutions. It’s a short drive from Alyeska to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, which cares for native, orphaned land animals. Then continue to the coast to the historic port town of Seward and the Alaska SeaLife Center, dedicated to preserving the state’s rich marine life. Your Adventure Specialist wishes you a bon voyage at the pier where you’ll board your ship.

Day 6 DAY 6 - HUBBARD GLACIER CRUISING

At 76 miles long and seven miles wide, North America’s largest tidewater glacier makes even the largest ships in the region feel small. Watch massive chunks of Hubbard Glacier’s translucent blue ice crash into the bay with a bang like a cannon shot, a sound the Tlingit people call “White Thunder.”

Day 7 DAY 7 - JUNEAU

Juneau is the largest U.S. state capital— and one of the hardest to get to. Flanked by mountains, tundra and rainforests, it’s basically inaccessible except by air or sea. Once you arrive you’ll find adventure in every corner. Go dogsledding over Mendenhall Glacier, or prospecting along centuries-old mining trails. In Juneau, the thrills are as endless as the surrounding wilderness.

Day 8 DAY 8 - SKAGWAY

Once the starting point for gold stampeders heading for the promised land of the Yukon, Skagway symbolizes the spirit of Alaska. And now — it’s your turn to hunt for bold. Embark on the trail of the fortune seekers on a vintage train ride with dramatic, sweeping views at every turn. Trek through the dense rainforest and windswept valleys of Chilkoot Trail and follow in the footsteps of Klondike pioneers. Or stroll the charming downtown streets studded with historical buildings. Whatever you get up to in Skagway, it’ll be a day you’ll never forget.

Day 9 DAY 9 - ICY STRAIT POINT

If you want to hang in Icy Strait Point, you’re going to have to get a little wild. Go whale watching in Point Adolphus and sea lion spotting. Or gear up to go soaring over mountain forests on the world’s longest zip line. Life here is all about the thrill factor.
