Start your day in the port city of Kinsale. Take a trip to the famed Charles Fort, one of the finest examples of a 17th century Star Fort. See Desmond Castle, home to the Earls of Desmond from 1500. St. Multose Church was built here in 1190 and remains in use to this day. The courthouse was used for the inquiry over the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915. Continue to Cobh, where transatlantic ships such as the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth used to stop. Thousands of Irish emigrants also transited through Cobh. Visit St. Coleman’s Cathedral, which has a carillon of 47 bells. Enjoy a walking tour of Cobh and the Titanic Trail to see the buildings, streets and piers where Titanic passengers embarked. Visit the Titanic Experience, situated in the original offices of the White Star Line. Return to Kinsale for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 October 10 – Kinsale to Dublin
Visit the Rock of Cashel, possibly the most photographed site in Ireland, towering over the town of Cashel from its perch on a 200-foot-high outcrop of limestone. Today, impressive stone walls enclose a round tower, a cathedral, a twelfth century Romanesque chapel and high crosses. Continue to Dublin and enjoy a panoramic tour of “Dublin’s Fair City.” You will also see Christ Church, built by the Anglo-Normans in 1172 and Phoenix Park with its many monuments. Continue to your Dublin area hotel for dinner and overnight.

October 12 – Malahide Castle
This morning, depart Dublin and visit Malahide Castle, set on 250 acres of park land. It was both a fortress and a private home for nearly eight hundred years. The Talbot family lived here from 1185 to 1973, when the last Lord Talbot died. Continue to Belfast and enjoy a driving tour of the city, including areas affected by “The Troubles.” Check into your Belfast area hotel for dinner and overnight.
October 13 – Antrim Coast and Giants Causeway
Travel along the Antrim Coast. You will experience breathtaking views of the Irish Sea as well as hauntingly beautiful moorlands. The grand finale, however, is the Giant’s Causeway. Sometimes dubbed “The 8th Wonder of the World,” the Causeway is an amazing sight with its 40,000 basalt columns rising from the sea. Legend has it that the Causeway was the path built by Irish giant Finn McCool to enable him to fight the giant across the Irish Sea in Scotland. Pass through the Northern Ireland countryside back to Belfast for dinner and overnight.
October 14 – Belfast
Today, you will enjoy a morning walking tour of Belfast to visit C. S. Lewis’ birthplace and other childhood sites. Belfast has been the scene of much conflict between the Roman Catholics and Protestants, culminating in “The Troubles.” While visiting Belfast, we will see the remains of the famous shipyards, where ships like the Titanic were built. Visit the East Belfast Mission, where Wesley’s emphasis on reaching the poor and working class people is put into action. Travel back to Dublin for dinner and overnight.
