Dr. Marcia McFee

Marcia McFee, PhD is a well-known speaker, worship leader and professor known for her engaging presentation style. The daughter of an airline pilot and stints living and working around the world have led to a love of travel and the savoring (“site-being, not merely site-seeing”) of the beauty of being a global citizen. More than a thousand people have traveled with her over the last 20 years to Lake Tahoe, Ireland, Puerto Vallarta, and on cruises to various parts of the world. Her latest research into the science of spiritual well-being through experiences of awe, beauty, and connection have led to popular presentations at clergy retreats and leadership conferences. She is the CEO of Spiritual Care Adventures and Worship Design Studio, a worship resource provider with hundreds of subscribing churches in 11 different denominations.

Purveyors of Awe

Awe is a profound emotional response that can significantly impact our wellbeing and perception of the world. Awe often arises from experiences that transcend our usual understanding, such as viewing vast landscapes, listening to powerful music, encountering extraordinary acts of kindness, or feeling heightened devotion and a Divine Presence connecting us all. To be a “Purveyor of Awe” is to be intentional about curating a life of spiritual depth. This has implications not only for one’s own life, but also as motivation to tend to the wellbeing of others.
