I never in the least felt that my security was compromised.  Not only is Israeli security top-notch, our tour guide did an exemplory job of looking out for our welfare. I have traveled all over the world including Russia, China, & Ghana; I've never seen security like Israel has.  I have feared for my life in an inner-city trip in the U.S. but never while traveling or sight-seeing in Israel.  It was a phenomenal trip!

I just got back from my tour yesterday (HL Classic) and just wanted to say what a wonderful time I had. My tour guide was Mike Tahhan. He was awesome! Mike is so knowledgeable not only about the religious history, but the history in general. He is so enthusiastic about his job, you can tell he loves what he does. I've been to other locations around the world, but this was the trip of a lifetime for me and Mike made it that much more special. I also want to say that our driver, Ishmael, was also wonderful. He is an amazing driver and so accommodating. Your hospitality teams were also a nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful travel experience!

Had several "God Moments" such as silence on the boat ride for the Sea of Galilee, the Armenian sung liturgy on Sunday morning in the Holy Sepulchre, Garden of Gethsemane, St. Anne's Church singing, overall fellowship on the bus and amongst the group as a whole.

Overall evaluation of the Holy Land program:

E.O. must know that our guide, Nader, was absolutely GREAT! I have travelled to the Holy Land many times with E.O.--this guide was the best. He was knowledgeable, extremely caring of everyone on the bus. His language skills and sense of humor made it a joy to be with him. His love of God, the land and our group was so evident. He managed to always work the schedule to our advantage. As the bus captain, I am so impressed with Nader and our driver, Said. If we stayed at five-star hotels, Nader was a six-star guide. Hopefully he will be a blessing to E.O. for many years to come.

What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

The trip had many profound moments for me, both emotionally and spiritually. The Bible itself came alive to an even greater extent after actually being in the places Jesus walked. I could logistically see the distance between the Garden of Gethsemane and the Temple in Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee in relation to the Mt. of Beatitudes, etc. Awesome, simply awesome.

In summary, thanks again for making a wonderful trip out of what could have been a total disaster. Since returning, I did hear of one company who ignored their people in Egypt after the protests became dangerous. They did not help them at all to get out of the country. I know it took much time and money to do what you at EO did. We will always be grateful for your attention to our safety, the fact that most of the people on our tour have made this trip "once in a lifetime" and appreciate all you've done to treat us with respect and dignity.

Overall evaluation of the Holy Land program:

EO had to deal with multple last-minute changes to make this trip a success. Unrest in Egypt forced last-minute cancellations of our Nile cruise, and weather in Newark resulted in cancellation of our flights to Israel. EO's ability to reschedule all flights, hotels, and tour bookings, as well as make all the necessary travel and VISA arrangements to allow unplanned Jordan extensions, and to do this all without missing any events on the originally planned itinerary, was truly noteworthy.

Seeing Bible locations in person - shows a scope impossible from reading or studying maps. Standing on the Mount of Olives and looking over the Kidron Valley was magnificent

I was very impressed with EO and our tour, I would highly recommend it to others. We were quickly informed when our return flight was delayed and EO took care of us until we left. The guides were outstanding and the hotels in Amman and Jerusalem were also outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

What would you improve about the Jordan portion of the tour?

[<DD>]Nothing, it was fabulous. I did not know much about Jordan before we went and it is a wonderful country. Our guide Firas was outstanding, he is a wonderful ambassador for his country. He was very professional and knowledgeable. The hotel was outstanding. I am so glad we went to Jordan as well as Israel.

What would you improve about the Jordan portion of the tour?

The Regency Palace was a lovely hotel, we had an excellent knowledgable guide, the tours of Petra and Jerash were high points, and visiting Jordan gave us a slightly different perspective on the mid-east.

What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

My wife and I experienced a new appreciation for all that Christ did to gain our salvation. The Bible, both O.T. and N.T., came alive as we walked the lands of the Bible stories we know and love.

Overall evaluation of the Holy Land program:

My wife and I gained new knowledge of the geography of the Holy Land and how the Biblical events occurred. Our guide did a wonderful job of connecting the O.T., N.T, and A.D. history. The organization was superb and ALL went so smoothly. Our guide made it fun and exciting and we had such a great variety of experiences.

What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

The visit to the Garden Tomb touched my heart and I truly realized what my Lord and Savior sacraficed for a miserable sinner like me.

Overall evaluation of the Holy Land program:

The knowledge of our guide Mike Abu Libdeh was excellant. He bought the Holy_Land and the timeline from its begining to present time to life for me. His insight provided a better understanding to the Holy_Lands trail and tribulations. It was thrilling to walk and learn in the footsteps of Jesus and a privilege to weep at his tomb in the garden. The skill of our driver, Adnan Kawasme, was excellant. At no point during the trip did I fear for my safety, because I knew that both Mike and Adnan would not put us in any jepordy and that they could handle any problems that could arise with the utmost skill and professionalism. When I take my next trip to the Holy Land having them as a team on the bus I take would be a major consideration.

What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

I now can visualize places in the Bible as I'm reading and can appreciate the struggles the ancient peoples faced. It was wonderful to see the places that Jesus visited and particularly to walk on the very path he surely took in the VAlley of the Winds and the Doves.

Going with a Christian group and a Christian tour group is THE way to see Israel. I loved the prayers, devotions, singing in the various churches, and particularly partaking of communion at the Garden Tomb. I think we were well grounded and meditative enough to be able to get through the Egypt part of the trip with calmness (not that we weren't terrified!) and grace. Our pastor and other travellers were a great help.

What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

It was so awe inspiring to be in the land where Jesus lived and where he actually walked. Wisam and Ed helped to explain why some of the Bible events happened as they did.

I really was blessed to have devotions on these holy places. Thank you, Bro Ed!

The trip brought home to me 2 facts especially...I am close to our Lord wherever I am and our Lord does not need a loud speaker to hear our prayers.

It is also a blessing to be able to visualize these places as I study the Bible.

This tour cannot be better! The days just seemed to fall into place, although I know there was planning..Wisam and Ed Crump used their talents to allow us maximum learning, visiting, and enjoying the Holy Land.

]What would you improve about the Egypt portion of the tour?

[<DD>]I have nothing to add for improvement. 

I just want to you to know how well we were taken care of by the guides and driver in Egypt. We had a wonderful tour of Cairo and then a great cruise. We had to fly from Aswan to Cairo to catch our flight back to the US. A guide, Wellid, and our original driver, Yasir met us at the Cairo airport when we arrived from Aswan. We found out our flight was not going to leave as scheduled. Wellid and Yasir made sure we were safe and as comfortable as possible. They took us to a nearby hotel. There were no rooms, but we were able to stay in the lobby all night. It was better than having to stay at the airport. The guide and driver stayed with us at the hotel. There was a curfew. The next morning they took us back to the airport and stayed with us until they knew we were getting on board the flight. I cannot say how much these two men helped us during this time of uncertainty. They could have just as well not met us at the airport and stayed with their families. Once on board our flight to the US, the pilot told us that we were on the last Delta flight out of Cairo indefinitely. We were lucky to make the flight.

When we arrived in NY, of course, we had missed our flights the day before. We expected we would have to make new arrangements to get back to our final destinations. To our surprise new flight arrangements were already made. The Lyles were going on that night, but we had to wait until the next morning for our flight to Nashville. We were given hotel, meal and taxi vouchers. I do not know if these arrangements were made by EO or Delta, but it was greatly appreciated.

We had a trip of a lifetime. Our tour of Israel was wonderful. The Egypt extension was also a wonderful, wonderful trip. We were out of Cairo before the demonstrations began and our cruise was not affected at all. Our only problem came trying to get our flight back to the US out of Cairo. I have to say we were well cared for and we wanted EO to know how the guides and driver made sure we were safe.

Actually seeing Jesus life in person gives me new meaning to my Bible readings. It was an experience that I will NEVER forget. The hilight of a lifetime!!!

This trip was the highlight of my travel life. It was a very emotional trip for me and I wouldn't change a thing. The physical effort required was higher than I expected but I would do it all over for the pleasure it brought me. Our guide Wisam was incredible and I would insist on him again if I traveled there. Our bus driver Assad was also very pleasant to travel with. The only small change I would offer is to tell prospective clients that it REALLY will cost 3 thousand dollars instead of 2 thousand. We were all right but some might be a little unprepared. E.O. gets a huge star in my book for this trip.

The fellowship with other tourists groups was outstanding. We sang with a group from China in a cathedral,we sang with the Italians in the cable car from Masada and made friends with a group from Nigeria. What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

This was my 6th Pilgrimage, and very possibly the best. In some places we are looking at 5000 years of Biblical history being unveiled by the archaeologists. As you embrace your faith in God with scriptures at each stop, it is as though the land itself is speaking to you. Truly the "Stones Cry Out" with their history, and that history becomes forever imbedded in your heart and spirit. I will never grow weary of every opportunity to revisit my Spiritual Homeland and share that experience with all who travel with me.

Without a doubt, EO offers the finest Holy Land Tour packages available. Some of our group had been to Israel before on tours that were sponsored by "Famous Ministries". To a person, they have expressed their amazement with the Quality of this tour. They particularly praised the knowledge and leadership of our guide, David Aarons. This was my 3rd time to have David as the guide on a Holy Land tour and I hope to get to use him as long as he is guiding. I have used other guides, but none of them has fulfilled the needs of the group as David does. What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?

The trip to the Holy Land was truly a blessing. Each day offered something that opened a new level of understanding that I did not have before. Mass is always special to me, but Mass in the Holy Land at the Garden of Gethsemane and at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was amazing. Experiencing the Holy Land in person gives me a new vantage point when reading the Bible that I did not have before. Jesus is present no matter where we are located - as close as his name in our hearts, minds and on our lips. But, by being personally present in the land where Jesus lived, walked, ate, prayed, ministered, died & resurrected is special beyond explanation.

Hi There! I wanted to send a note to you to let you know how much my husband and I enjoyed our EO experience. It was truly a life changing 10 days. We were part of the trip that arrived in Amman, Jordan Feb. 7 and left from Amman Feb. 15.
I want to express to you how phenomenal our guides were for both parts of our trip. 

This was just what I was hungry for and hoping to get from my first time to the Holy_Land. I so appreciated his knowledge of all aspects of Israel i.e. Biblical, archeological even botanical! All of this made the stories of the Bible that I have cherished all my life take on so much more depth and meaning! Really, I am blown away by my time there and so much of it has to do with the wonderful guides we we were privileged to have. Thank you so much! I am recommending EO to everyone I know. I can't imagine going to the Holy_Land any other way!

What would you tell others about this trip?
Our guide was superb. First time that a guide actually had true knowledge of what he was talking about. Many guides out there you can't understand them and are not knowledgeable of the area etc. Also people asked me about how security was for for the trip and honestly I had to tell them that I didn't even think about it anytime on the trip, never entered my mind. I would definetly take another tour with EO. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

What spiritual blessings did you receive from this trip?
Only one person in our group had been to the Holy Land before so this group was first timers. These were mostly older people and they did see the Bible through a new light. I was so happy they saw and reacted to the truth of God's word. Each one seemed to find that place that touched them in a very special way. We have made 7 trips to Israel with EO and other trips to Italy and Greece. This group, even with some special needs, was the most "together" group we have ever hosted. A truly bonded and loving group. Sam and I enjoyed sharing the Land with these sweet people. God has always blessed us with these trips.

Because of excellence of our guide (Mike Tahhan)and sequence of sites, the trip was really meaningful and puts you in the time of Jesus and gives you a much better understanding of the Holy Land region itself as it existed in those days. Everything about the trip was a blessing!! Waking up every morning realizing I was in the place where Jesus was born, ministered and died--hard to put into words -- breathtaking! What spiritual blessings did you receive for this trip?
I got the opportunity to experience what life was like in the time of our lord Jessu Christ via the landscapes and excellent lectures of our tour guide and tour captain. I learned to be more aware of my capacity for intolerance. I had some narrow views of the holy land based on slanted newscasts and some research, however after taking this trip and talking to locals, I realize that matters in the holy land are much more complex. I learned that I should pray more to ask the lord to help me look at things more objectively and not rely solely on my temporal senses and sources.

First and foremost, our guide, Mike Tahhan, was a huge blessing! His knowledge of the Bible and history was phenomenal and he was always great about answering our many questions. He had a wonderful sense of humor, as did our bus driver, Ishmael, and they made a great pair! I'm so THRILLED that Mike was our guide!
Overall evaluation of the Holy Land program:
I'm so thrilled that I was able to participate in this tour! Although sometimes I feel we had to rush from place to place so we could stay on schedule (I wished that we had more time in some places), I still thought it was awesome. Again, our guide, Mike Tahhan, was amazing and I'm so glad that he was assigned to our group. I can't imagine anyone being better than he was!

A much closer relationship with Christ simply by possibly walking in his footsteps. The Bible was truly brought to life and took on new meaning. David was an excellent guide, extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his explanation of events and sites we visited.

Very pleased. Very minor complaints. Our bus driver, Halead, was simply wonderful---the best! He eagerly transported us with great ease through the cities and was a pleasure to be around. The cities we visited were, for the most part, of much help in drawing us nearer to our connection with Jesus. I would highly recommend this tour to others.

Having a history degree and an awesome Rabbi to study under, this trip made all of the history and teaching in the Bible truly come alive and connected me in a personal way to God's Land of His Covenant! It was a blessing to have a Messianic Jew as a tour guide(Hertzel) as he understood the total concept of the One New Man, Jew and Gentile, worshipping the One God of Israel!

It was AWESOME!!! I realy enjoyed having Mike as our guide. He was very personable and was able to answer all of the our questions, no matter how basic or advanced they were. He really showed he cared about us by making sure we were all ok, adjusting our schedule based on the ability of the group (i.e., going down hill instead of up). He made us always feel safe, too. I will highly recommend EO and will suggest people request him as a guide. Adbulah was wonderful with the bus... you'd think he was driving a Mini Cooper! He was very accommodating and helped ensure we were all entering and exiting the bus safely. He even spotted Ibex on the side of the road and safely pull over for us to look at them. All in all it was a wonderful program.

My Impression of what Safety and Security would be like in the Holy Land Before My Arrival: We really did not have an understanding of what to expect, but we trusted our Bus Captain Mel Bishara, that we would be safe and that EO would not put our safety in jeapardy.  At no time did we feel unsafe during our trip.
My Impressions During Trip: We think Mike, our tour guide, did an superior job in leading us through the Holy Land.  Our driver, Saleem, “threaded the needle” many times while driving our bus through traffic and difficult parking.
What I Would Tell People Who Want to Visit: 1) Book with EO (Educational Opportunities Tours). 2) Bring plenty of US cash and little, if any, shekels. 3) Plan to be educated. Take notes, if you can and take plenty of photos. 4) Come when you are physically fit due to long walks, stairs and steep inclines.  Don’t wait to come to the Holy Land if you are mobile and in good shape.

My Impression of what Safety and Security would be like in the Holy Land Before My Arrival: I had the upmost confidence in Educational Opportunities.  They strive to have the strictest measures in place for our protection and safety before, during and upon leaving Israel.  I would definitely recommend going through Educational Opportunities Tours.
My Impressions During Trip: Mike and Mel were both very watchful over us, letting us know what to watch out for and how to protect our personal items.  Before leaving an area Mike always counted to make sure none was missing.  I felt both safe and secure because of their concern for our safety- which made my time and stay in Israel most enjoyable- so much I definitely want to come back again one day.
What I Would Tell People Who Want to Visit:  Visiting the Holy Land is a life changing experience.  History becomes more alive and real.  Reading my Bible becomes more exciting. It’s a beautiful country and experiencing it is a must.

We all prayed together, had communion in several places such as the garden of Gethsemane, visited the Wailing Wall. Even the hotels and the food were excellent. The Church of the Nativity was awsome. It is a privilege to share my impression of the Holy Land based on my recent EO sponsored 10 day tour. I looked forward to the trip knowing the life of Christ in this land and I was not disappointed. Our highly competent guide led us among the people to sacred and peaceful places. While the citizens of Israel when about the hustle and bustle of their daily lives, we found solace in the presence of God and fellow Christians from around the world. I never doubted that we were in good hands. We were safe, educated, well-fed and close to God. This is a Christians trip of a lifetime.

I know immediately it was the Lord, my God.This calmness was especially felt on the Lake of Galilee. When we started planning for this trip to the Holy Land, we were quite concerned about our physical safety. We decided to press on with our plans with a lot of trepidation.We arrived in Israel Oct 20 and we have felt very comfortable ever since our arrival. We feel just as safe as we do in the United States.Let us add that the service provided by EOT has been totally outstanding. From Rev. Joe Bullington as our host here at the Royal Plaza to our tour guide Nader Nasiobi and our driver Ghleb. Nader is very knowledgeable and does an outstanding job of sharing that information with us. Ghleb is a very safe driver and has the ability to get us in and out of tight situations.

My fellow pilgrims and I recently returned from the Holy Land. My wife and two others from Rochester, New York, also extended our trip to include Egypt. As the Host of the Rochester contingent of eight, I would like to extend a profound "Thank You!" to you and the entire staff of Educational Opportunities. We truly appreciate all the advance planning... especially since our Egypt extension was customized with three additional days in Cairo after the Nile cruise... I would also like to recognize others that made our twenty days in the Holy Land and Egypt so very special... Rula, our guide in the Holy Land was exceptional. Her knowledge and her spirituality made our time in Jerusalem and Galilee a true "Pilgrimage." Also, the Olive Tree Hotel was a fine hotel and their food was excellent.... Another exceptional guide was Mohamed Adel, who led us through the Sinai peninsula, St. Catherine's Monastery and to and from the Cairo airport. Adel was both knowledgeable and very personable, in addition to being very reliable. We were treated royally! I highly recommend Adel... The driver of our van in Egypt, Mahmoud Antko, also deserves recognition. It made our day to see his constant smile and we always felt safe as he drove us through the infamous Cairo traffic...Within Cairo itself, Mostafa Ali Anas was our guide. He too was exceptional! He sincerely cared about fulfilling our expectations for each day's events. Mostafa is another superb asset to Educational Opportunities as a very professional guide. He went "above and beyond" in his service...On behalf of my wife, I again thank you and all those at EO which made our Holy Land pilgrimage and Egyptian sightseeing adventure so very memorable.

Message from a Passenger who just returned from Israel in February
 
I just wanted to take time to tell you what a fine organization you have going. In Feb 2009 my wife and I traveled to Israel with EO Tours and had a marvelous time. The travel arrangements and accommodations were excellent. The guide Mike and bus driver Sam were top notch. They made the trip quite enjoyable. I know that at that time there was quite a ruckus going on in the Gaza Strip area of Israel, but you would never have known about it unless you heard or read about it in the news. Our safety was never a concern, unless it was from the wood carved camels for a $1 street vendor guy. He was everywhere. You have a good employee in Mike, his sideline information, was above and beyond that with you would normally receive. You can tell he loves doing what he is doing, which made the trip so much more informative. The revelations that God is now giving me about the Word of God is so much clearer since our trip and the I believe the some of that clarity is a direct result of Mike and Sam, they made the trip very special.

"We just returned from a fabulous 11 day spiritual pilgrimage to the Holy Land, concentrating our time in Galilee but also spending several days in the Jerusalem and the Dead Sea area. We had a group of 40 people, and for all but four persons this was their first experience in Israel. Our trip coincided with the fighting in Gaza, and although there was some nervousness expressed by people before we left, we had absolutely no problems during the trip. A few people even commented to me about how unnecessary their fears and worries had been. Had we not seen news reports on TV at night, we would never have known that there was a conflict in the south of the country. We are all grateful that a cease fire is now in effect, and we prayed daily for the people involved in the conflict and for peace. We celebrated many inspiring worship experiences and had great fellowship and a deep sense of spiritual renewal as people experienced the power of walking in the Land. Many commented about how the Bible 'came alive' for them! Already several of our group members have asked me to plan another trip to visit areas that we did not cover and to include more contemporary educational experiences such as meeting with Palestinians and Israelis and gaining more insight into the historical Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ongoing dialogue for peace."

My name is Rev. Dan Campbell and I am currently leading a group of 21 pilgrims from the Tampa Bay area to the Holy Land. We have just finished our pilgrimage with Educational Opportunities and have had a great time. It has surpassed the expectations of everyone who has come. In fact, this is my fourth trip in 18 years with Education Opportunities to the Holy Land and this has been the best one yet. Before we left many of the family members of those going on this tour were very concerned and did not want us to go. However, we always felt very secure and safe through the whole trip. We saw an increase in security personal, but we were always relaxed and never felt threatened or in fear. EO has also gone out of their way to improve the tour over the years. I saw many things I had not seen before, even though I have been on three other occasions. I am a tour host who is currently in the Holy Land with a group of thirteen persons. We have joined hundreds of others who are traveling on multiple tour buses with Educational Opportunities in the Holy Land at this time. We departed the United States on January 6. We arrived at Ben Gurion Airport on the evening of January 7 and were promptly met by representatives of Educational Opportunities who did an excellent job of ensuring that we were transported and checked into our hotel in Tiberias. We have enjoyed two wonderful days of touring Cana of Galilee, Nazareth, Megiddo, Caesarea By The Sea, the Sea of Galilee, the Jesus Boat, the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the multiplication of the fish & loaves, the site of the primacy of Jesus, Capernaum and the baptismal site. Our driver and our guide have done an outstanding job. We have been completely safe and totally removed from any of the conflict that is currently occurring in the Middle East. We traveled this evening in Israel through the Jordan Valley, into the West Bank and to Jerusalem. Once again, our travel was excellent with absolutely no safety concerns. We have been kept fully informed of developments throughout the region. At every moment, all of us have been completely at ease with no anxiety whatsoever. This is my fourth trip to the Holy Land with Educational Opportunities over the past 15 years. Despite the events which are occurring elsewhere in the region, I have found that Educational Opportunities, through its outstanding staff, continues to provide the best possible service while providing us with a secure environment to have one of the most transforming spiritual experiences of a lifetime. The rest of the people who are traveling with me are here for the first time. They have repeatedly shared with me that they are so happy that they did not allow news reports to discourage them from coming to the Holy Land and experiencing one of the most significant times of their lives. I do not know of any uprising in Jerusalem. Jerusalem, Bethlehem, and Jericho are completely normal. All of my 42 passengers arrived safely today and we are having a lovely evening in Jerusalem after touring Mt. Scopus for the overview. As far as I know no one cancelled. One lady said she called the state department as asked should I go and they said sure go ahead. There is no reason not to come to Israel. Where we travel is as far removed from the unfortunate conflict as the US.

We were blessed to enjoy the EO Holy Land tour with Egypt, Tracing the Route of the Exodus extension in Jan./Feb. What a fantastic experience! The places we visited are sights that we'll never forget. As we do our Bible studies now, how much more meaningful they are. The guides and drivers we had showed great expertise. We gained so much from all they had to share with us. The food was outstanding! The hotels were luxurious. We never once had a single concern about our well-being. Everywhere we went we were treated like royal guests. Our safety was never an issue. Our advice is to go and enjoy this blessing for yourselves. You'll never regret it. My sister and I traveled to the Holy Land this May. We had been "warned" by well-meaning but uninformed family members that we were about to go into a "war zone". We were at no time in fear for our safety...well, in all honesty, I was a little worried about losing my life in a New York taxi prior to my departure. The tour guides were wonderful, the people in Israel marvelous, and the accommodations were extremely nice. I would recommend this trip to anyone, but most especially to the Christian traveler. Learning about the places Jesus held his ministry doesn't hold a candle to actually seeing those places first hand. The Bible came alive for us, and we are grateful to all of the people involved in creating such a wonderful tour.

Before the Trip: I was a little apprehensive because of all the unrest over here, but I had no idea what it would actually be like- even though many people from my church had been here before and they didn’t have any problems.
During the Trip: I loved everything about this trip. We had a wonderful guide and bus driver! What You Would Tell Others: Be careful in the marketplace in Old Jerusalem (pickpockets) and bring lots of one-dollar bills (for shopping) when you come!

During the Trip: I was very impressed. Lillian, our guide, is a wonderful woman and a kind person. Her knowledge is unbelievable. She has been through a lot in life, but since she’s a strong person and a Christian, she has survived. As I have learned, sorrow and sadness draw us closer to God. No guide could be better than her!

Before the Trip: My first impression was that this is easy. Security seemed lax, but then I noticed small things as a frequent traveler that told me things were safe and secure. Even once we arrived and began touring, the armed soldiers never gave us pause.
During the Trip: I gained a greater respect for the Holy Land. I realized the importance of this land to the faithful. I think the locations and history should be valued more. I find for the most part that Israelis and Arabs are equally nice.
What You Would Tell Others: I would tell them they must come with me in 2009. I would tell them it is a walking history and biblical tour though the Holy Land. I would tell them to be open. I would tell them to do some additional study on places and themes in the scripture relating to Jesus’ life and death. I would tell them to bring questions about locations and bible history. I would tell them it is not a typical vacation.

Before the Trip: I thought there would be a lot of security. I thought we could even be searched at the airport. I even thought we would be escorted by soldiers from place to place.
During the Trip: Most of the people were friendly, we were greeted everywhere we went. I didn’t really feel the political side at all because it was all about the religious stories of Jesus and the Holy places we visited.

Before the Trip: This is my fourth trip, therefore I knew what to expect. However, before my arrival on my first trip, I was fearful because of all of the negative media we receive in the US concerning the conflicts and terrorists in the Middle East. Many people were fearful for me back home and were surprised when we returned and they heard our wonderful testimonies.
During the Trip: During my first trip, I was blessed each day and at every site as I marveled at the awesomeness of God. My faith was strengthened, and I know that I became a better Christian and committed believer as a result of this first pilgrimage (as well as our three subsequent trips) to the Holy Land. Also, Tzippi was an outstanding tour guide.
What You Would Tell Others: I always tell them that there is no need to fear because you will be safe. In addition to safety, EO provides top class accommodations, guides and drivers and I continue to return each time because it is the best experience in my entire life.

Before the Trip: Even though there are acts of terrorism in Israel, I had been told that tourists are safe there. Therefore, I had very little concern for safety and security.
During the Trip: This trip was comprehensive in the sights that were included, yet our guide was sensitive to our spiritual needs and time was allowed for reflection. Tzippi is the most informed guide I’ve ever toured with. The pilgrimage was a quality experience that I would have no second thoughts about recommending to others.

Before the Trip: I didn’t really know exactly what to expect. I thought that for the most part our group would be fine, especially since we were in a group with guides. I just thought we would need to be careful in certain areas and that there would be armed guards at certain places.

During the Trip: My impression of the trip was that we were very safe! EO did a great job of watching our situation. When one “issue” occurred, they adapted and re-routed us. Before the Trip: I checked the EO comments from previous pilgrims and read about 30 pages of positive things from those folks. That was very reassuring. This was out first time in a foreign country, so it was natural to have doubts.
During the Trip: I was reassured when I would see military amongst the crowds in the market areas. Going to and from Bethlehem with the wall seemed uncertain, but always felt safe on the bus even when guards walked through.

Before the Trip: Before my trip to the Holy Land, I was a big uncertain about the security and safety there, but after arriving at the airport and being greeted by the immigration department so warmly, I felt secure. After meeting my tour guide, she, along with the bus driver, made me feel as if I was at home and safe.
During the Trip: This was an unforgettable experience; one I will never forget. It was worth the money and I enjoyed all of the sights, especially the tomb, the Mount of Olives, the Mount of Beatitude, the Western Wall, the Old city, the museums, restaurants, the Dead Sea, the boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, and the River Jordan. It was un-for-get-a-ble.
What You Would Tell Others: I would encourage Christians and non-Christians alike to come and see this Land of Bible fulfillment for themselves. No one can explain it or do it justice by telling them, they would have to experience it for themselves.

During the Trip: I loved it very much! The sights I saw were very beautiful and our tour guide was a wonderful, heart filled person who was always singing.

Before the Trip: I expected tight security for the purpose of safety.
During the Trip: I felt quite safe; everything was under control.

Before the Trip: I felt that security would be tight, but after I arrived the security was strict in several places, but for the safety of the guests. It was not out of the ordinary. I was pleased with it.
During the Trip: Everything was in order, and the tour guide was very hospitable. All of the tours were very well organized and the explanations about each site we visite
Overall evaluation of the Holy Land program:Very pleased. Very minor complaints. Our bus driver, Halead, was simply wonderful---the best! He eagerly transported us with great ease through the cities and was a pleasure to be around. The cities we visited were, for the most part, of much help in drawing us nearer to our connection with Jesus. I would highly recommend this tour to others.What spiritual blessings did you receive for this trip?This trip made me feel more "in tune" with my faith and as I am a "visual" person, I can now know about the places and incidents that happened long ago.
