Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Depart USA

Depart on your overnight international flight.

Day 2 Arrive in Israel

Our representatives will greet you and transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Caesarea Maritime / Megiddo / Mount Tabor

Wonder at the Roman Aqueduct and Theatre at Caesarea, a center of the early Christians. Here, Cornelius became the first Gentile convert to the new covenant (Acts 10) and Paul was imprisoned before taken to Rome for trial (Acts 23). Travel the ancient caravan route to Tel Megiddo where 20 different cities lie superimposed upon each other. Here Solomon and other Israeli kings had a major center for commerce and military protection. Ascend Mount Tabor where Jesus was transfigured before Saints Peter, James and John (Matt 17:2). Check into your Galilee kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Nazareth / Cana / Tabgha / Primacy Church / Sea of Galilee Jesus Boat / Capernaum / Valley of the Wind and Doves

We’ll continue to Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home (Matthew 2: 23). Stand in the Basilica of the Annunciation. See the House of the Holy Family, St. Joseph’s Workshop, St. Joseph’s Church and the Virgin Mary’s Well (Luke 2:41-52; Matt 2:19-23). Visit the Franciscan Wedding church in Cana, where the first miracle of Christ is remembered (John 2). Those couples wanting to have their vows renewed may do so here. Stop at Tabgha, where the feeding of the 5,000 is remembered at the Church of the Loaves and Fishes (Luke 9). Walk the shore at the Church of the Primacy of Peter on the shores of the Sea of Galilee (John 21). Set sail on the Sea of Galilee aboard a Kinnereth Sailing Company boat. Appreciate the special place this lake had in Jesus' ministry as, with Bible in hand, we hold a special worship service (Mark 1, 8). See a 2,000 year-old sailing vessel that was discovered and preserved at kibbutz Nof Ginosar. This is a rare find of the kind of boat Jesus and the disciples would have used to cross the Sea and fish. Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus' ministry in the Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands on the site where Jesus taught. Recall His teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom (Matt. 4:13, 23). The Valley of the Wind and Doves is a valley between two stone out croppings coming from the west towards the Sea of Galilee at the site of Magdala. Return to Galilee kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Mount of Beatitudes / Tel Dan / Caesarea Philippi / Nimrod Fortress

Look upon the fields where Jesus taught at the Mount of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5-7). A beautiful chapel has been built here to commemorate these precious words of truth. You will also visit the ancient remains of Tel Dan and the altar built by King Jeroboam I (I Kings 12:25-30). We’ll journey to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter proclaimed, "You are the Christ" (Matthew 16). Here is one of the headwaters of the Jordan River. Enjoy a view on the slopes of Mount Hermon from Nimrod’s Castle. This Muslim and Crusader fortress was named for the biblical Nimrod (Genesis 8). Return to Galilee kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 Beit Shean / Jordan River / Bethlehem

Walk the streets of Beit Shean, a city continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years. Here Saul and his son's bodies were hung from the walls of the city (1 Samuel 31). The uncovered ruins date back to the Greek / Roman city that was part of the Decapolis of Jesus' day. See colonnaded streets with marble sidewalks, Roman public baths, and a theater. Visit the Baptismal Site at Kasr el Yehud, the traditional site of the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist (John 1). View the Mount of Temptation as you travel the Jericho Road. The road from Jericho to Jerusalem twists for miles as it climbs from below sea level into the Judean Mountains. Jesus traveled the nearby Roman road, the setting of His parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 30? 36). In Bethlehem, you’ll visit the Church of the Nativity and the cave revered as the place where Jesus was born (Matt. 1: 18 - 25; Luke 2: 1-7). We’ll visit the adjoining St. Catherine Church. Nearby you’ll visit the grotto at the Shepherds’ Field where the Good News was first heard. Look out over Jerusalem from Mount Scopus, before checking into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 Mount of Olives / Dominus Flevit / Gethsemane / Western Wall / Southern Temple Steps / Upper Room / Gallicantu

Walk the Palm Sunday Road, down the Mt. of Olives, stopping enroute at Dominus Flevit Church, a great view and excellent place to sing. Pray in the Garden of Gethsemane amongst Olive Trees in the Kidron Valley across from the walls of Jerusalem. Visit the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps and the Western Wall. Stand in the Upper Room, near the traditional site of the Last Supper (Mark 14). Walk through some of the ancient rooms of Caiaphas' the High Priest's house beneath the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. Here Jesus was held overnight before His crucifixion (Luke 22).

Day 8 Pool of Bethesda / Church of St. Anne / Via Dolorosa / Antonia Fortress / Church of the Holy Sepulchre / Jewish Quarter / Cardo

View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5: 1-31) where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle. Lift your voice in song in the acoustically beautiful Church of St. Anne. Visit Herod’s Antonia Fortress where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate (Luke 23: 1-11). Walk the Via Dolorosa, "the Way of the Cross". Walk through the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built over the traditional sites of the crucifixion and burial sites of Jesus. Walk the Jewish Quarter and take time to visit the Cardo, a 2,000 year old market with shops old and new.

Day 9 Qumran, Masada, Dead Sea & Ein Gedi

Even today, the road from Jerusalem to the Jordan Valley twists for miles as it descends below sea level to the lowest spot on the earth's surface. Jesus traveled the nearby Roman road, the setting of His parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-36). Visit Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery, to learn about the mysterious community of Essenes who once lived on the shores of the Dead Sea. Discover Masada, Herod’s mountaintop fortress which became the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore. Peer down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Stop briefly at the shores of the Dead Sea for a quick dip in the salt and mineral laden waters. Journey to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where David and his men sought refuge from Saul (1 Sam. 23).

Day 10 Herodion / First Century Model & Israel Museum / Yad Vashem

Visit the Herodion, the fortified palace and final resting place of Herod the Great. Understand better the Jerusalem of Jesus’ day with a look at First Century Model of the City of Jerusalem, now housed at the Israel Museum. The museum itself houses 10,000 years of archeological artifacts. This afternoon you'll have the opportunity to walk the museum and grounds of Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum.

Day 11 Burnt House & Wohl Museum / Tower of David Citadel Museum and Garden Tomb

Visit the Burnt House and Wohl Archaeological Museum, testimony to the Roman invasion of 70 A.D. and the destruction of Jerusalem. See a Roman sword and blackened ceramics lying among the scattered ruins. Pass through the Old City walls at the Jaffa Gate. Here the Citadel Museum preserves portions of the city's history from the First Temple period on. Visit and worship at the Garden Tomb, possible site of the garden of Joseph of Arimathea and experience the reality of the Resurrection. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure in Jerusalem. After dinner, prepare for your return flight.

Day 12 Return Home

Return home with many memories to share.
