Day 1 Depart USA
Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA and take an overnight flight to Tel Aviv.
Day 2 Arrive in Holy Land
Transfer to Galilee hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 3 Galilee
Begin your day in Capernaum (Matthew 4:13, 11:23‐24), the center of Jesus' ministry in the Galilee. Visit the synagogue that stands on the site where Jesus taught. Recall His teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom (Matt. 4:13, 23). Travel to Tabgha (Mark 6, John 21), where the feeding of the 5,000 is remembered at the Church of the Fish and Loaves (Luke 9). Stop at the Chapel of the Primacy, where Peter confessed his devotion to Christ 3 times. Sail across the Sea of Galilee on a Kinnereth Sailing Company Boat. View the Ancient Boat Museum at Nof Ginosar, where you can see a boat dating to the times of Christ. Visit the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes (Matthew 5‐7) that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. On this hill, Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount.
Day 4 Caesarea Maritima – Nazareth – Northern Galilee
Journey to Caesarea Maritima and stand in the place where it is believed Paul addressed King Herod and Festus. This port city reveals many extensive remains of the theater and other sites, including a Roman aqueduct along the Mediterranean shore. Continue north along the coastline to Mt. Carmel overlooking the Jezreel Valley where Elijah defeated the priests of Baal. Visit Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home, and the Mount of Precipice, where Jesus was rejected by those in the synagogue. Stop in Cana, the sight of Jesus' wedding feast miracle. Continue on to Golan Heights where you will visit the Golan Winery.
Day 5 Samaria
Today visit Samaria, the capital of the Northern Kingdom, and home to Ahab and Jezebel. See Mt. Ebal and Mt. Gerizim where the Israelites recited the blessings and cursing’s of the Law. Continue to modern day Nablus (ancient Shechem) and see Jacob's Well where Christ encountered the Samaritan woman (John 4). There will be an optional visit to the Tiberias Hot Springs that date back to Roman times to enjoy their therapeutic waters (Price not included).
Day 6 Galilee – Dead Sea – To Jerusalem
Travel to Megiddo on the plains of Armageddon, which is an exciting archeological dig with its layers of twenty different cities built on top of each other. Visit the baptismal site of Qasr el Yehud, where tradition says Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. Travel to Jericho (the oldest city in the world) and visit the ruins of the ancient city conquered by Joshua (Josh. 6:1, 2 & 20). In the distance, you can see the traditional site of the Temptation of Jesus (Matt. 4:1‐11). Continue to Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery. End your day with the opportunity to take a dip in the mineral laden waters of the Dead Sea. Continue to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 Jerusalem
Travel to Ein Karem, birthplace of John the Baptist and where Mary visited Elizabeth (Luke 1:26‐40). Visit Nebi Samuel, thought to be the burial place of the prophet Samuel. In Emmaus, recall how the resurrected Jesus appeared to two of His disciples (Luke 24:13). Walk the museum and grounds of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. On Mount Zion, visit the Upper Room, revered as the site of the Last Supper (Mark 14:12) and St. Peter in Gallicantu, the home of the High Priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was held after His arrest (Matt. 26:57).
Day 8 Bethlehem
In Bethlehem, visit the cave where Jesus was born (Matthew 1:18‐ 25) and the Church of the Nativity. Gaze out over the Shepherds’ Field, where angels first proclaimed the Good News. Explore one of the most exciting archeological digs in Israel, the Herodion. This palace‐fortress is the final resting place of Herod the Great. Stand on the Mount of Olives and enjoy a remarkable view of the Golden City of Jerusalem. Forty days after His resurrection, Jesus ascended into heaven from this place (Acts 1:9‐12). Walk to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray beneath the ancient olive trees (Matt. 26:36‐ 44).
Day 9 Masada. Ein Gedi
Enjoy a visit to Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod and famous as the last stronghold of the Jewish Rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore the fortress. Peer down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Continue your journey to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where David and his men sought refuge from Saul (1 Samuel 23). See the Temple Mount, once the site of the Temple of Solomon. Visit the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps and the Western Wall. Experience traveling back in time in the Western Wall Tunnels, where foundation stones and other stone work survives from the Second Temple! Continue your journey through the Jewish Quarter to the Cardo. This ancient marketplace has ruins that date back to the Judean monarchy among modern shops.
Day 10 Jerusalem
See the Temple Mount, once the site of the Temple of Solomon. Visit the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall Excavations including the Teaching Steps and the Western Wall. Experience traveling back in time in the Western Wall Tunnels, where foundation stones and other stone work survives from the Second Temple! Continue your journey through the Jewish Quarter to the Cardo. This ancient marketplace has ruins that date back to the Judean monarchy among modern shops.
Day 11 Jerusalem
Visit and worship at the Garden Tomb, possible site of the garden of Joseph of Arimathea and experience the reality of the Resurrection. View the Pool of Bethesda (John 5: 1‐31) where Jesus performed the Sabbath miracle, and sing a hymn in the Church of St. Anne. Visit Herod’s Antonia Fortress where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate (Luke 23:1‐11). Walk the Via Dolorosa, “the Way of the Cross,” and stand in reverence at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Enjoy the remainder of your day with free time to explore Jerusalem and prepare for your flights home.
Day 12 Return to USA
Return to USA or enjoy the Jordan Extension.
