Daily Itinerary

Day 1 December 27 - Depart USA

Today you will depart from the USA to Tel Aviv, Israel. Meals served in flight.

Day 2 December 28 - Arrive in Tel Aviv

Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv and be transferred to your hotel in the Galilee area for check-in, dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 3 December 29 - The Galilee

Begin your first day in the Holy Land by crossing the Sea of Galilee by boat. Travel to Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Visit the peaceful Mount of Beatitudes that overlooks the Sea of Galilee. Stop at Tabgha, where the feeding of the 5,000 is remembered at the Church of the Loaves and Fish (Luke 9). Also stop at the Chapel of the Primacy, where Peter confessed his devotion to Christ 3 times (John 21). Walk the recent excavations of the town of Magdala, connected with Mary Magdalene. End the day with a stop at the Jordan River for a time of spiritual blessing. Spend a festive evening amidst the ancient atmosphere of the Galilee region at K’far Kadem; feast on local foods and wines; donkey rides; witness olive pressing, baking, and goat milking.

Day 4 December 30 - Megiddo, Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, and K’far Kadem

Head south and inland to Megiddo on the plains of Armageddon. Here Solomon and other Israeli kings had a major center for commerce and military protection. Look across the Valley of Jezreel to the heights of Mount Carmel, where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). Journey to Caesarea by the Sea and stand in the place where it is believed Paul addressed King Agrippa and Festus (Acts 25, 26). This port city reveals many extensive remains of the theater and other sites, including a Roman aqueduct along the Mediterranean shore.

Day 5 December 31 - Masada, Qumran, and the Dead Sea

Enjoy a visit to intriguing Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod that later became the final tragic stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Travel to Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery, to learn about the mysterious community of the Essenes who once lived on the shores of the Dead Sea. Visit Ein Gedi, where David sought refuge from Saul. Experience life as it was in Biblical times as you visit Abraham’s Tent. Time permitting, stop briefly at the shores of the Dead Sea for a quick dip in the salt and mineral-laden waters.

Day 6 January 1 - Emek Tzurim, Mt. of Olives, Mount Zion, Church of the Holy Sepulchre

See the Archaeological study being done at Emek Tzurim, where excavations from under the Temple Mount are being studied. Visit the Mount of Olives (Luke 19, 2 Sam. 15) and the Site of the Ascension (Acts 1). Pray as Jesus did in the Garden of Gethsemane among the olive trees in the Kidron Valley, just across from the walls of Jerusalem. Continue to Mount Zion to visit the House of the High Priest Caiaphas, where some say Jesus was questioned the night of His betrayal (Matt. 26: 57-65). Reflect on Christ’s sacrificial love at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Day 7 January 2 - The Upper Room, The City of David, Hezekiah’s Tunnel

Stand in the Upper Room, revered as the place of the Last Supper (Mark 14). View the site of The Lady of Mount Zion. Wander through the excavations of the City of David. Walk the steps to the Pool of Siloam, recently uncovered at the foot of the City. Explore Hezekiah’s Tunnel, an amazing engineering feat that was dug from either end and met in the middle!

Day 8 January 3 - Shabbat

Enjoy a free day of rest in Jerusalem.

Day 9 January 4 - The Old City

Enter the Old City and visit the Kotel, also known as the Western Wall. Walk the Kotel Tunnel that follows the foundational walls built by Herod for the Second Temple, and see the recently Generations Center that takes you through 3,500 years of Jewish history. End your day at the Teaching Steps.

Day 10 January 5 - Jerusalem

Walk the museum and grounds of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust. Enter the Herzl Museum, where his vision for the Jewish state is presented. Visit the Bram Center for Messianic Jewish learning. Visit and worship at the Garden Tomb and experience the reality of the Resurrection. After a final dinner in Israel, prepare for departure back to the USA.

Day 11 January 6 - Return to USA

Return home with appreciation of the people and places of Israel!
