Enjoy a scenic drive to Capernaum, center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee (Matt. 4:13, 23). Experience a special onboard worship service as you sail across the Sea of Galilee.
Day 5 January 22 – Caesarea Philippi /Tel Dan /Mount Bental
Travel today north to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter proclaimed, "You are the Christ” (Matthew 16). You will also visit the ancient remains of Tel Dan and the altar built by King Jeroboam I (I Kings 12:25 -30). From Mount Bental, look out over the Syrian plains where Saul would be confronted by the Risen Christ (Acts 9:1 -18). Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

You'll pass through Samaria to modern day Nablus (ancient Shechem), see where the Samaritan woman encountered Christ (John 4) at Jacob’s Well. Continue to Ramallah and visit the Yasser Arafat Museum to see another perspective of life in the Middle East. Day 7 January 24 – Qumran /Ein Gedi /Masada/Bethlehem
Start the day at Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll discovery. Look out on the oasis of Ein Gedi, where David and his men sought refuge from Saul (1 Sam. 23). Enjoy a visit to intriguing Masada, the spectacular mountaintop fortress built by Herod that later became the final tragic stronghold of the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Ride the cable car to the top to explore the fortress and look down upon the remains of the Roman camps and siege ramp below. Pass through the Judean Wilderness to Bethlehem to check into your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 January 25 - Bethlehem
In Bethlehem, visit the cave where Jesus was born (Luke 2:1 -7) and the Church of the Nativity. Gaze out over the Shepherds’ Field, where angels first proclaimed the Good News. Day 9 January 26 – Mount of Olives /Gethsemane /St Peter in Gallicantu /Israel Museum /Yad Vashem

Walk to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray beneath the ancient olive trees (Matthew 26:36 -44). See the Church of All Nations built here. On Mount Zion, visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, the home of the High Priest Caiaphas, where Jesus was held after His arrest (Matthew 26:57). Learn about the Jerusalem of Jesus’ day with a look at the First Century Model of the City of Jerusalem, now housed at the Israel Museum. The museum itself contains 10,000 years of archeological artifacts, as well as the Shrine of the Book exhibit that displays the Dead Sea Scroll containing the book of Isaiah. Walk the museum and grounds of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial, with its poignant exhibits honoring the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust.

This morning, Walk the Temple Mount, now home to the Dome of the Rock. Stop and Pray at the Western Wall. Remember how Jesus healed on the Sabbath when you visit the Pool of Bethesda (John 5: 1 -18). At Herod’s Antonia Fortress (Luke 23:1), see where Jesus was brought before Pontius Pilate.
