Day 1 Friday, February 14, 2020 – Arrive in Guatemala
Catch your flight from Tampa, FL to Guatemala’s La Aurora Airport. Then transfer to Antigua, Guatemala, the most important and enchanting city of colonial Guatemala. Founded by Spain in 1543, Antigua is now a beautiful blend of ruins, restored colonial buildings, and new buildings in colonial style. It was declared “Monument of America” in 1965.
Day 2 Saturday, February 15, 2020 – Tour Antigua
During the morning, enjoy the Antigua Guided Tour. Visit the Central Plaza that is surrounded by the antique Cathedral, the Municipal Government Building, and the Palace of the Captains General. See colonial churches and monasteries, primitive foot-looms where colorful textiles are woven, and a jade factory where this stone is worked into beautiful jewelry. Enjoy the afternoon on your own to explore and relax at your leisure.
Day 3 Sunday, February 16, 2020 – San Jose Poaquil & La Asuncion
This morning, you will be picked up at your hotel for your transfer to San Jose Poaquil where you will visit the coffee farm cooperative La Asuncion. Meet the farmers who provide the beans for Ethos Roasters Poaquil single-origin. Learn how coffee is grown and harvested. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to beautiful Lake Atitlan.
Day 4 Monday, February 17 ,2020 – Lake Atitlan
In the morning, cross Lake Atitlán to the picturesque Mayan village of Santiago Atitlán, one of the twelve lake-shore villages surrounding the Lake. Enjoy this bustling Mayan community, where weavers work the colorful textiles.In the afternoon, the passengers will have time on their own.
Day 5 Tuesday, February 18, 2020 – Depart Guatemala
Fly home with a greater appreciation for the Guatemalan farmers who grow and harvest Ethos Coffee.
