Board your overnight flight to Amsterdam, Holland.
Day 2 Arrive in Amsterdam - Embarkation
Arrive in Amsterdam and board your luxurious river cruise ship. Meet your fellow travelers tonight at the Welcome Dinner. (D)
Day 3 Amsterdam
After breakfast, enjoy a time of worship before beginning your tour of Amsterdam with a scenic canal cruise through the city known as the "Venice of the North." See the tall narrow homes lining the water, the Skinny Bridge, and the house where Anne Frank and her family lived in hiding during WWII. Later, enjoy a panoramic city tour that will show you many key sights, including a photo stop at the windmill famously painted by Rembrandt. You'll have some free time to explore on your own before returning to the ship. The ship departs this afternoon, en route to Germany. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Cologne & Koblenz
Enjoy a guided tour of Cologne this morning, which will take you to the Old Town, Cathedral Square, and the city's majestic 13th-century Gothic cathedral. Afterwards, you'll have free time to visit some of the local shops or have a coffee at a quaint café. Late tonight, the ship cruises to Koblenz and moors overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 5 Rhine Gorge, Mainz & Worms
This morning, cruise through the picturesque Rhine Gorge, admiring its many castles and fortress ruins and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Visit the Rhine River city of Mainz where Johann Gutenberg developed the processes of moveable type which permitted printing to be done on a production scale. It was an essential tool which made the Reformation possible for it allowed the words of the reformers to be distributed to the masses. Explore the ancient city of Worms, site of the famous Diet of Worms where Luther refused to back down from his criticism of the church. The city's Reformation Monument features statues of major figures in the Reformation. (B,L,D)
Day 6 Speyer & Heidelberg
Arrive around noon in Speyer, one of Germany's oldest cities, known for its cathedral, numerous churches and the 13th-century Altpörtel (Old Gate). Choose either a city tour of Speyer or a half-day excursion to historic Heidelberg, where you will visit the red-walled castle with its Great Vat (a 49,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask) and see beautiful views of the Neckar Valley and city below. This evening, the ship returns to Koblenz. (B,L,D)
Day 7 Disembarkation in Koblenz - Wartburg & Eisenach
Disembark after breakfast. Travel to the famous Wartburg Castle where, in 1522, Luther translated the New Testament into German. View the room where, in just 11 weeks, Luther completed his translation. Martin Luther lived in Eisenach during his student days. Learn about Luther's life and the Reformation at the Luther House (museum). Check into your Erfurt area hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Day 8 Erfurt & Eisleben
Erfurt was called the "city of spires" in Luther's day. Visit the Augustinian Monastery where in 1507 Luther was ordained into the priesthood. Although he traveled and lived elsewhere, Luther was born and died in Eisleben. You'll see St. Petri (St. Peter & St. Paul's Church) where Luther was baptized and also see his parents' and wife's portraits. Tour this charming town, including the Luther Family Home, as well as the house Luther was visiting at the time of his death. Walk the medieval cobblestone streets past St. Andrew's where Luther preached his last sermon. Enjoy a service attend Castle Church in Wittenberg, before dinner and overnight at your hotel in the Wittenberg area. (B,D)
Day 9 Wittenberg
Luther lived and taught for 36 years in Wittenberg. You'll see where he posted his 95 Theses on the Palace Church door, giving voice to the Reformation. Visit Schlosskirche, burial site of Luther, and Luther Halle, a former monastery where Martin lived with his family. Return to Wittenberg for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Day 10 Depart Berlin
Say farewell to Germany as you prepare for your homeward flight from Berlin.

November 20 ‐ Potsdam & Berlin
Enjoy a tour around Potsdam including the Castle and Old City. A driving tour of Berlin will introduce you to such sites as the Brandenburg Gate and the rebuilt Reichstag, whose transparent dome represents the open government of the nation. Pass the ruins of the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachtniskirche, left as a poignant reminder of what was lost in the Second World War and stop at a section of the Berlin Wall, a stark testimony to the once divided city. Dinner and overnight in Berlin.
November 21 ‐ Berlin
Journey to the Museum Island to visit the Pergamum Museum and see the the Market gate of Miletus and the Ishtar Gate from Babylon. Take a photo at Checkpoint Charlie, the infamous crossing point from East to West Berlin during the Cold War Era, before wandering through the museum. Retunr to your hotel in Berlin for dinner and overnight.
