Day 1 August 17 – Anchorage, Alaska
Upon arrival in Anchorage, a transfer will be provided to your Anchorage hotel where your Tour Director will greet you. Enjoy the lively bars and eclectic dining this youthful city offers, or take a stroll on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Overnight at the Anchorage Marriott.
Day 2 August 18 – Anchorage to Denali, Alaska
In the morning, depart for Denali on the Wilderness Express. Soak in spectacular views of the stunning landscape from your glass-domed traincar. From 4:30 p.m., Denali is yours to explore. Stroll the trails that surround Denali National Park Visitor Center, or book an optional river rafting adventure down the Nenana River. Overnight at Denali Park Village.
Day 3 August 19 – Denali to Talkeetna, Alaska
Begin your day in Denali National Park on the Denali Natural History Tour. Admire the pristine beauty of Alaska’s unspoiled wilderness as you discover incredible taiga forests and gaze at miles of rolling tundra, while on the lookout for wildlife. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic drive to the charming town of Talkeetna. From 5:30 p.m., Talkeetna is yours to discover. Relax at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, situated in full view of Denali, affording breathtaking views of the tallest peak in North America. Book an optional flight with your Tour Director and let seasoned bush pilots take you over the Alaska Range, or enjoy a leisurely hike on a quiet wooded trail. Day 4 August 20 – Talkeetna to Alyeska, Alaska
In the morning, enjoy a scenic drive on your deluxe motorcoach to the cosmopolitan city of Anchorage with time for lunch on your own, then continuing to beautiful Alyeska (Girdwood) past the picturesque Turnagain Arm. Take a spectacular ride on the Mt. Alyeska tramway for breathtaking views, while soaring 2,300 feet above the ground. From 4:00 p.m., Alyeska is yours to explore. Enjoy the luxury amenities of the Alyeska Resort, like the heated swimming pool with mountain views, or book an optional alpine hike on the Alyeska Glacier. Overnight at Hotel Alyeska.
Day 5 August 21 – Seward, Alaska
Set off on a scenic drive along the Seward Highway to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where you’ll meet Alaska’s famous wildlife up close. Continue to Seward’s Alaska SeaLife Center, dedicated to the preservation of sea wildlife. In Seward, join the Millennium for your 7-night cruise to Vancouver. Edging the Kenai Peninsula and framed by the glacier-covered Kenai Mountains that run along its southeastern spine, Seward is a rustic port town whose grand terrain will leave you breathless. Day 6 August 22 – Hubbard Glacier (Scenic Cruising)
Enjoy incredible picture-perfect views from just about anywhere on the ship as our dedicated onboard naturalist narrates the experience and keeps an eye out for the whales, harbor seals, and otters that hunt and play in the waters of Yakutat Bay. With its dramatic and massive 7-mile-wide face, and ever-changing wall of ice, the Hubbard Glacier lives long in the memory of any visitor to Alaska.
Day 7 August 23 – Juneau, Alaska
Founded during a gold rush in 1880, Juneau has maintained its rugged and pioneering style while developing a cosmopolitan side. Check out the State Capital as well as the Alaska State Museum with its collection of Russian Orthodox and Gold Rush relics. Nestled at the foot of Mt. Juneau and located on the Gastineau Channel, Juneau is surrounded by some of Alaska’s most spectacular scenery, including the majestic Mendenhall Glacier nearby.
Day 8 August 24 – Skagway, Alaska
The great Klondike Gold Rush lives on in Skagway’s charming downtown of restored 19th-century buildings and its historic railway. Located on the edge of the wilderness, this small town saw its fair share of gold rush, get rich dreamers pass through. Today, it’s residents are more than welcome to share the stories of its untamed past. And there’s so much fascinating history to uncover on a cruise that includes Skagway. Head to Klondike Gold Rush National Park Museum for an in-depth look at Klondike and the two routes out of Skagway – Chilkoot Pass and White Pass. From the vintage train, admire the mountains and see the 1898 trail that fortune seekers traveled on foot. The White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad runs the vintage locomotives through the famously steep Chilkoot Trail and offers sweeping mountain views during its climb toward Canada.
Day 9 August 25 – Icy Strait Point, Alaska
For thousands of years, the Tlingit Indians have called this place home. Located near the city of Hoonah, and home to a historic cannery, Icy Strait Point also offers travelers the chance to view wildlife like humpback whales, orcas, seals, eagles, and brown bears, or to explore monuments to the region’s fishing heritage.
Day 10 August 26 – Ketchikan, Alaska
You’ve never tasted salmon so fresh. Known as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World’, Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit people, who have carved the world’s largest collection of totem poles. If you’re up for an adventure, take a canoe and nature trail excursion through the rain forest or a wilderness exploration followed by a sumptuous crab feast you’ll long remember.
Day 11 August 27 – Inside Passage (Scenic Cruising)
You’ll sail beyond the Inside Passage into the more protected Alaska Inside Passage in southeastern Alaska. This complex labyrinth of fjords, bays, and lush green islands is home to an abundance of wildlife, including orca, mountain goats, bald eagles, bears, puffins, sea otters and much more. During the summer months, the long hours of daylight allow for ample opportunities for nature photos on your Inside Passage Cruise. You’ll never forget the sight of 40-ton whales hurling themselves into the air, almost completely escaping the water. If you’re especially lucky, you could see them swimming together to create a bubble net, trapping and eating fish by the giant mouthful.
Day 12 August 28 – Vancouver, British Columbia
Disembark your cruise this morning in Vancouver and make your way to the airport for your return flight home. Among the world’s most livable cities - diverse, cultural, and beautiful - this culinary capital treats you to fresh local seafood, farm-to-table produce, and authentic Asian flavors. West Coast architecture - modernism with a woodsy bent - emerged here. But while downtown shines with steel and glass, its epicenter is green Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre oasis of spectacular beaches, trails, and views. North of town, ride scenic Sea to Sky Highway along the coast and through the forest toward Whistler, 2,200 feet above sea level. On your way, behold lofty Shannon Falls and brave the heart-pounding Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge.
