    Step back 2,000 years and imagine the roar of the spectators as athletes took their marks on the marble starting blocks in the stadium at ancient Olympia. The Costa Pacifica sails for Piraeus.

  5. Nov. 9 - Athens and Corinth, Greece

    The architectural splendors of the ancient city of Athens are as magical as ever. Follow your guide on a journey to the ancient Acropolis where you will see the Propylaea, the Parthenon and the Erectheum. View Mars Hill where Paul preached the gospel to the intellectual Athenian community of his day (Acts 17: 15-34). View the ruins of the Agora, ancient market place and center of Athenian public life, where Paul preached to the skeptical Athenians. You will view the Olympic Stadium, where the modern Olympics began and where the games returned in 2004. Travel to Corinth (Acts 18: 1-18), a city that inspired St. Paul’s most familiar letter. You will visit the Archaeological Museum, the Market Place, and Temples. Walk among the ruins and stand on the Bema where Paul stood. Read Paul’s letter to the Corinthians and visualize his address to the Gentiles as he began the task of building Corinth’s church. The Costa Pacifica sails to Izmir. Lunch will be on your own today.

    Journey to Ephesus, the marble city where Paul spent three years of his ministry. It was to this community that Paul may have written his Epistle to the Ephesians. The ruins of Ephesus have been restored much like the city was in Paul’s time. You will visit the ancient Agora and imagine where Demetrius, the silversmith, sold his silver shrines of the Greek goddess Artemis. You will view the Great Theater and see the place where Paul witnessed faithfully for Christ. Visit the archaeological site of Miletus (Acts 20:13-38). Paul and his companions traveled to Miletus via Mytilene, Chios and Samos. Once in Miletus, Paul delivered his touching farewell address to the elders of Ephesus and predicted his death.

    Your cruise ship docks in the port of Haifa. Travel inland to the Sea of Galilee. Much of the Gospel is centered around the Sea. You’ll stand on the Mount of the Beatitudes where Jesus gave his most famous sermon (Luke 6:12-49). At Tabgha, the traditional location for the calling of the disciples and the feeding of the 5000, you’ll visit the Church of the Fish and the Loaves (Luke 9:10-17). Visit the Chapel of the Primacy where three times Peter professed his devotion to the risen Christ (John 21). Travel to the shore town of Capernaum where Jesus called Peter, Andrew, James, John (Matt 4:13) and later Matthew. Stop by the River Jordan where those who wish to be baptized may do so.

    Dock in Port Said and travel to Cairo. Begin your tour of Cairo with a visit to the Egypt Museum which houses the King Tut treasures and many other artifacts from Egypt's long history. Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, the last remaining ancient wonder, built before Moses and the Israelites were even in this ancient land. Return to Alexandria where you will reboard the Costa Pacifica.

    Dock in the port of Civitavecchia and say good-bye to the Costa Pacifica. Travel to Ancient Rome where history is woven through the streets and neighborhoods as in no other city. Today you’ll explore the many wonders of ancient Rome when you visit the magnificent Colosseum. From the most sacred hill of ancient Rome, Campidoglio, you’ll view the Forum. You’ll also view the Circus Maximus, Mamertine Prison, and the Arch of Titus, the famous Baths of Caracalla and the Arch of Constantine. You’ll see the Victor Emanuel Monument and the Monti Region, Rome’s most ancient neighborhood which spreads over three of her seven hills. Overnight in Rome.

  13. Nov. 17 - Return to USA

    Transfer from your hotel to the Rome Airport to begin your journey home or begin your post tour.
