Day 1 MAY 11 - Monday – Depart USA
Your Italian adventure begins as you depart on your international flight.
Day 2 MAY 12 - Tuesday – Rome for All
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred by private coach to your hotel. Enjoy a panoramic tour on bus and walking tour of the city center: stopping at the magnificent baroque Navona Square, at the ancient Roman temple Pantheon, and eventually the famous and joyful Trevi Fountain. Return to your hotel for a welcome dinner and overnight.
Day 3 MAY 13 – Wednesday – Vatican
This morning you will make your way to St. Peter’s Square to attend the Papal Audience, led by His Holiness, Pope Francis. (Papal Audience: Is scheduled to take place every Wednesday, pending the schedule of Pope Francis). Following the audience you will experience the glory of Christian Rome when you visit the Vatican and the Vatican Museums, one of the greatest museums in the world. And, of course, you’ll enter St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, where you’ll view Michelangelo’s frescoes which have been restored to their full, colorful glory. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 MAY 14 – Thursday – Ancient Rome | Musei Capitolini & Colosseum
Today visit the Musei Capitolini, a great collection of the ancient Roman Art. Later this afternoon, continue to the magnificent Colosseum, once the heart of ancient Rome and a place of martyrdom for the early saints. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 MAY 15 – Friday – Orvieto to Ancona
Following breakfast, travel north by coach through the stunning Tuscany countryside. Pope Nicholas IV laid the cornerstone for the Cathedral of Orvieto in 1290, dedicating it to the Assumption of the Virgin. Orvieto served as a Papal residence through the Middle Ages. Here the Feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated, marching from the Duomo. Continue to Ancona to check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 MAY 16 – Saturday– Ancona
Today enjoy a walking tour of the city center of Ancona. Admire the Cathedral of Saint Ciriaco and wander through the beautiful piazzas. This afternoon, visit the Museo Tattile Statale Omero, an incredible collection of works of art, where it is forbidden not to touch. Enjoy a light dinner with wine tasting in Ancona City Center and return to your hotel for the night.
Day 7 MAY 17 – Sunday – Ancona | LORETO | National Conero Park
After breakfast, explore the beauty of the National Conero Park. Celebrate Mass in Loreto. Afterwards enjoy lunch at a typical agriturismo restaurant. This afternoon return to the Museo Tattile Statale Omero for further exploration of the artworks there. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 MAY 18 – Monday – to Rome - Prepare for flights home
Following breakfast, enjoy the remainder of the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon transfer to Rome by private motor-coach. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day 9 MAY 19 – Tuesday – Return home
Transfer to Fiumicino Airport for departure back home.
