Dr. Mark Ziese

Dr. Mark S. Ziese is Professor of Old Testament at Johnson University (Florida), and an adjunct instructor with the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies. Along with courses in Old Testament exegesis, he teaches ancient history, and archeology.

Mark holds degrees from Ozark Christian College, Cincinnati Christian University, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, and Andrews University. He has participated in archaeological fieldwork in the Middle East since 1984 and is a familiar face within the academic communities of Israel, Palestine, and Jordan. He is also a Fellow at the Albright Institute of Archaeology in Jerusalem.

Mark ministers from the faith community of the Christian Church-Church of Christ. He speaks regularly in churches and schools, both at home and abroad. Recent publications include The College Press NIV Commentary: Joshua, The College Press NIV Commentary: Ruth, and My Father’s World: Celebrating the Life of Reuben G.
