Day 2 – Arrive in Rome

*(Transfer included if air purchased through EOX or if you provide EOX with your flight information at least one month prior to your departure.)

Day 3 – Ancient Rome

Explore the Colosseum, where daring gladiator fights and reenacted sea battles were once normal occurrences. The sheer size and longevity of its ancient structure is magnificent. The Roman Forum once mirrored a modern county seat. It was the heartbeat of government, politics, and commercial affairs. Carefully designed paths guide visitors throughout the ruins. Italy is passionate about their coffee and exuberant about luxurious flavors. During your foodie tour, walk the capital city like a local, with fresh espresso in your tummy and decadent gelato in hand. (B)

Day 4 – Vatican Rome

Enter the Vatican Museum before the regular crowds. Enjoy the quieter atmosphere as you admire the massive collection of ancient Greek sculptures, medieval tapestries, and Renaissance paintings. The legendary Sistine Chapel hosts Michelangelo’s artistry, which elevates the viewer to heavenly realms. Nearby, St. Peter’s Basilica waxes greatness as the largest church in Christendom, holding masterpieces by Michelangelo and Bernini. Take the afternoon to explore at your own leisure. (B)

Day 5 – Pompeii

Pompeii has been stunningly preserved for 2,000 years ago. In AD 79, Mt. Vesuvius rained down ash and magma, so suddenly, the city literally froze in its tracks with people attempting to escape with children in their arms and bread left in the oven. Lavish homes, large stores, a theatre, and more are still so eerily present. (B)

Day 6 – Isle of Capri

Discover Capri, a magical and colorful island. Since the time of the Roman Republic, it has remained a favorite resort destination. Walk through Anacapri on your guided tour and explore its charming shops and chic boutiques. “La Piazzetta” sets the social tempo of the island and is on your way to the breathtaking open-air gardens of Augustus. If the weather is fair, sail to the amazing Blue Grotto, a stunning cave illuminated by shafts of penetrating light. (B, L)

Day 7 – Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is beset with enchanting towns and pristine beaches. A stop in Positano will give you a chance to take some fabulous photos! Continue on the legendary road overlooking the Mediterranean to reach the coastal town of Amalfi. Walk the steep streets, narrow alleyways, sidewalk vendor stalls, quaint boardwalk cafes, and find some hidden treasures. (B, D)
